The Narration of the Trayodaśī Vow Observed Throughout the Twelve Months
tadaṃte dhenuyugmena sahitau tau pradāpayet | itthaṃ naro vā nārī vā kṛtvā vratamidaṃ śubham || 27 ||
Narada (in dialogue context with Sanatkumara tradition; concluding instruction of a vrata-vidhi)
Vrata: none (conclusion of the described vrata-vidhi)
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It emphasizes that a vrata is completed not only by observance but also by concluding dāna—here, gifting the prescribed items along with a pair of cows—thereby sealing the rite with generosity and merit (puṇya).
By stressing sincere completion of a sacred vow through offering and charity, it supports bhakti as disciplined devotion expressed through humble, dharmic action rather than mere intention.
It reflects Kalpa (ritual procedure): the rule that a vow has an 'end-step' (tad-ante) involving prescribed gifting (pradāna/dāna) to properly conclude the rite.
