Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It links vrata-discipline with dāna: giving pure, sāttvika offerings to qualified brāhmaṇas and then restraining one’s own diet, so the vow becomes both outward charity and inward self-control.
By prescribing a humble, non-indulgent diet after making offerings, it supports devotional purity—reducing sense-gratification and turning the practitioner’s mind toward worship, gratitude, and service.
Ritual procedure (kalpa-style vrata-vidhi) is emphasized: counted offerings (seven), qualified recipients (brāhmaṇas), and regulated āhāra (dietary rule) as part of observance.
