śaratkāle mahāpūjā kriyate yā ca vārṣikī / tasyāṃ mamaitanmāhātmyaṃ śrutvā bhaktisamanvitaḥ
في فصل الخريف تُقام العبادة العظمى السنوية. وفي تلك المناسبة، من سمع «ماهَاتْمْيَا» الخاصة بي بتعبّدٍ وإخلاص نال الثمار الموعودة.

The verse links inner devotion (bhakti) with outer rite (annual autumnal worship), indicating that the ritual reaches fulfillment when accompanied by attentive hearing and reverence for the Devī’s līlā and power.
Not a Pancalakṣaṇa unit (sarga/pratisarga/vaṃśa/manvantara/vaṃśānucarita), but a liturgical phalaśruti appended to the Devī Māhātmya narrative, guiding practice and its results.
Autumn (śarat) is symbolically a ‘clear’ season; hearing the Māhātmya then signifies aligning one’s mind with clarity and śakti, making the devotee a fit vessel for the Devī’s presence and protection.
