Adhyaya 82 — The Rise of Mahishasura and the Manifestation of the Goddess from the Gods’ Tejas
निरन्तराः शरौघेण कृताः केचिद्रणाजिरे ।
शैलानुकारिणः प्राणान् मुमुचुस्त्रिदशार्दनाः ॥
nirantarāḥ śaraugheṇa kṛtāḥ kecid raṇājire | śailānukāriṇaḥ prāṇān mumucus tridaśārdanāḥ ||
في ساحة القتال صار بعضهم كتلةً متصلةً من الجراح تحت سيلٍ من السهام؛ وأولئك المعذِّبون للآلهة أسلموا أرواحهم، فسقطوا كأنهم جبالٌ تنهار.

Those who ‘oppress the devas’—i.e., who violate the sustaining principles—inevitably collapse under the very momentum of their aggression; the Devī embodies the restoring power of ṛta.

The ‘torrent of arrows’ can symbolize an overwhelming stream of mantra/jñāna that leaves no gap for ignorance to reassert itself.
