Adhyaya 49 — Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture

Sanskrit

इत्येषा मानुषी सृष्टिर्या पूर्वं वै प्रजापतेः ।

तस्यान्ववायसम्भूता यैरिदं पूरितं जगत् ॥

Transliteration

ity eṣā mānuṣī sṛṣṭir yā pūrvaṃ vai prajāpateḥ |

tasyānvavāyasambhūtā yair idaṃ pūritaṃ jagat ||

Translation

هكذا كانت تلك الخليقةُ البشريةُ التي كانت من قبلُ تابعةً لبراجاباتي. ومن تعاقب نسلها وُلد أولئك الذين امتلأ بهم هذا العالم.
