Dharma is often conveyed through lineage instruction: the princes ground their stance not in ego but in inherited counsel (pitṛ-vākya), a classic purāṇic validation of right conduct.
Vamśānucarita (lineage narrative) explicitly surfaces through mention of the father’s directive.
‘Father’ can also symbolize the prior cause/ground (kāraṇa) of one’s dharma; the verse gestures to alignment with a deeper originating principle rather than momentary impulse.
