Uttara’s Panic and Bṛhannadā’s Stabilizing Counsel
iti śrīmahābhārate virāṭaparvaṇi goharaṇaparvaṇi uttaragograhe bṛhannalāsārathyakathane ṣaṭtriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ
Even when force is involved, dharma is upheld through disciplined action: rightful protection and recovery (of the cattle) is framed not as mere aggression but as duty carried out with skill, restraint, and proper guidance.
This is a colophon concluding the chapter that belongs to the cattle-raid episode in Virāṭa Parva, specifically the account of Uttara’s cattle-recovery and the narration of Bṛhannalā serving as his charioteer.
