The verse highlights adharma as the misuse of strength and status to violate another’s bodily autonomy and honor. Draupadī’s rebuke and immediate attempt to pull away foreground the ethical imperative to resist wrongdoing and to protect dignity, especially where power is used to coerce.
Kīcaka, angered and provoked by Draupadī’s scolding, tries to physically seize her. He grabs the edge of her upper garment as she jerks back to escape, marking an escalation from verbal confrontation to attempted physical violation.
