Draupadī Awakens Bhīmasena
द्रौपहुवाच यथैवाहं नाभिचरे कदाचित् पतीन् मदाद् वै मनसापि जातु । तेनैव सत्येन वशीकृतं त्वां द्रष्टास्मि पापं परिकृष्ममाणम्
drauapady uvāca yathaivāhaṁ nābhicare kadācit patīn madād vai manasāpi jātu | tenaiva satyena vaśīkṛtaṁ tvāṁ draṣṭāsmi pāpaṁ parikṛṣyamāṇam ||
قالت دروبدي: «إن كان حقًّا أنّني لم أخالف أزواجي قطّ—ولا حتى في خاطري—بدافع الكِبْر، فبقوّة هذه الحقيقة نفسها سأراك، أيها الآثم، واقعًا تحت سلطان غيرك ومجرورًا على وجه الأرض».
कीचक उवाच
The verse highlights satya (truthfulness) as a moral and spiritual force: Draupadī invokes her inner fidelity and restraint as a ‘truth-act’ that empowers justice against wrongdoing.
In the Virāṭa court episode, Draupadī confronts her harasser and, asserting her unwavering loyalty to her husbands, foretells that he will be overpowered and dragged—anticipating his imminent punishment.
