लेभिरे पितरश्नलास्य लोकान् राजन् यथेप्सितान् । तत ऊर्ध्वमयं ख्यातस्त्वगस्त्यस्याश्रमो भुवि,राजन्! तदनन्तर उनके पितरोंने मनोवांछित लोक प्राप्त कर लिये। उसके बादसे यह स्थान इस पृथ्वीपर अगस्त्याश्रमके नामसे विख्यात हो गया
lebhire pitaraś ca te lokān rājan yathepsitān | tata ūrdhvam ayaṃ khyātas tv agastyasyāśramo bhuvi rājan ||
أيها الملك، لقد نال أسلافهم العوالم التي تمنّوها. ومنذ ذلك الحين غدا هذا الموضع على الأرض مشهورًا باسم «آشرَم أغاستيا».
लोगश उवाच
That righteous action and reverence connected with sacred persons/places can yield spiritual benefit for one’s ancestors, and that such merit leaves an enduring mark in the form of a place’s sanctified reputation.
The speaker tells the king that the ancestors (Pitṛs) achieved their wished-for realms, and explains that from that point the location became famous on earth as the hermitage of the sage Agastya.
