ततः स पाण्डवश्रेष्ठो भ्रातृभि: सहितो वशी

वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds vaśitva—self-mastery—as a hallmark of righteous leadership: the foremost Pāṇḍava advances not impulsively but with disciplined restraint, supported by fraternal solidarity.
Vaiśampāyana signals a transition: the leading Pāṇḍava moves forward accompanied by his brothers, indicating coordinated action and unity as the episode continues.
