मनो: प्रजापतेलोंकानाप्रोति पुरुषर्षभ । कन्यायां ये प्रयच्छन्ति दानमण्वपि भारत
manoḥ prajāpate lokān āpnoti puruṣarṣabha | kanyāyāṁ ye prayacchanti dānam aṇv api bhārata ||
قال غُولاستيا: «يا ثورَ الرجال، يا بهاراتا، من قدّم لفتاةٍ عذراءَ ولو أصغرَ هبةٍ نال عوالمَ مانو، ربِّ الخلائق. إن هذا العطاء—وإن قلّ—عظيمُ الثواب.»
घुलस्त्य उवाच
Even a small act of giving, when directed toward a socially protected recipient such as a maiden, is praised as highly meritorious; the verse links such charity with attaining exalted realms associated with Manu/Prajāpati, emphasizing the ethical weight of compassionate support.
Ghūlastya addresses a Kuru descendant (“Bhārata”), instructing him on dharma by extolling the spiritual fruit of charity—specifically, that even minimal gifts offered to a maiden yield great heavenly reward.
