युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya

अथ ज्येछिलमासाद्य तीर्थ परमदुर्लभम्‌ । तत्रोष्य रजनीमेकां गोसहस्रफलं लभेत्‌,तत्पश्चात्‌ परम दुर्लभ ज्येष्लिलतीर्थमें जाकर एक रात निवास करनेसे मानव सहस्र गोदानका फल पाता है

atha jyeṣṭhilam āsādya tīrthaṁ paramadurlabham | tatroṣya rajanīm ekāṁ gosahasraphalaṁ labhet |

ثمّ إذا بلغ المَعبرَ المقدّس النادر جدًّا المسمّى جييشثيلا (Jyeṣṭhila)، قيل إنّ من أقام فيه ليلةً واحدة نال ثوابًا يعادل هبةَ ألفِ بقرة. ويؤكّد هذا المقطع أخلاقَ التيرثا في المهابهاراتا: فالحجّ المنضبط والمراعاةُ الخاشعة في المواطن المقدّسة يُصوَّران كوسيلةٍ بالغة القوّة لاكتساب فضل الدارما.
