Nala’s Victory over Puṣkara in the Dice-Game
परिचर्या स्वकां तस्मै यथावत् प्रत्यवेदयत् । ततो बभूव नगरे सुमहान् हर्षज: स्वनः
paricaryā svakāṃ tasmai yathāvat pratyavedayat | tato babhūva nagare sumahān harṣajaḥ svanaḥ ||
قال بْرِهادَشْفا: لقد رفعت إليه تقريرًا على الوجه اللائق بما أدّته من خدمة. فعندئذٍ ارتفع في المدينة كلها دويّ عظيم مولود من الفرح—علامة ظاهرة على ارتياح الجماعة ورضاها حين يُعترف بحسن السلوك وبالخدمة الأمينة.
बृहृदश्च उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical value of proper service (paricaryā) performed in the right manner (yathāvat) and truthfully reported. When duty is fulfilled and acknowledged, it fosters trust and shared happiness in the wider community.
A woman (implied by the verb form) reports to a man (tasmai) the service she has carried out. After this report, a great joyful sound rises in the city, indicating public delight or celebration at the outcome.
