स तत्र कुण्डिने रम्ये वसमानो महीपतिः: । न च किंचित् तदापश्यत् प्रेक्षमाणो मुहुर्मुहुः । स तु राज्ञा समागम्य विदर्भपतिना तदा
sa tatra kuṇḍine ramye vasamāno mahīpatiḥ | na ca kiñcit tadāpaśyat prekṣamāṇo muhur muhuḥ || sa tu rājñā samāgamya vidarbhapatinā tadā ||
وأقام الملك هناك في مدينة كُṇḍينا البهيّة، وكان يحدّق مرارًا وتكرارًا، غير أنه في ذلك الحين لم يرَ شيئًا البتة. ثم لما لقي ملك ويدربها مضى على ما يقتضيه المقام. ويشيع النص جوّ البحث القَلِق، ويُبرز نقطة التحوّل التي تأتي بلقاءٍ في أوانه مع سلطةٍ شرعية.
