नैषधं मृगयानेन दमयन्ति मया नलम् | अयोध्यां नगरीं गत्वा भाड़ासुरिमुपस्थित:,“दमयन्ती! मैं निषधनरेश नलको दूँढ़ता हुआ अयोध्या नगरीमें गया और वहाँ राजा ऋतुपर्णके दरबारमें उपस्थित हुआ
Bṛhadaśva uvāca: naiṣadham mṛgayānena damayantī mayā nalam | ayodhyāṃ nagarīṃ gatvā bhāḍāsurim upasthitaḥ |
«يا داميانتي! إنّي، ابتغاءَ نالا (Nala) ملكَ نيشَدها (Niṣadha) من أجلك، قصدتُ مدينة أيودھيا (Ayodhyā) ومثلتُ بين يدي الملك رِتوبَرْنَة (Ṛtuparṇa) في مجلسه.»
