The verse highlights steadfast loyalty and purposeful effort: one should act decisively and respectfully within social institutions (like a royal court) to fulfill a righteous commitment—here, aiding Damayantī in the search for her lost husband.
Bṛhadaśva narrates that, while searching for Nala on Damayantī’s behalf, he travels to Ayodhyā and enters King Ṛtuparṇa’s court, setting up the next developments in the Nala–Damayantī episode.
