यच्चेक्षितासि विस्पष्टं विशेषेण मया शुभे । तच्च कारणपूर्व हि शृणु सत्यं शुचिस्मिते,'शुभे! पवित्र मुसकानवाली उर्वशी! मैंने जो उस समय सभामें तुम्हारी ओर एकटक दृष्टिसे देखा था, उसका एक विशेष कारण था, उसे सत्य बताता हूँ सुनो--

Transliteration

yac cekṣitāsi vispaṣṭaṁ viśeṣeṇa mayā śubhe | tac ca kāraṇapūrvaṁ hi śṛṇu satyaṁ śucismite ||

Translation

«أيتها المباركة، يا ذات الابتسامة الطاهرة الرقيقة: إن النظرة الثابتة الواضحة التي حدّقتُ بها إليكِ كان وراءها سببٌ خاص. فاسمعي؛ سأقول لكِ الحق، إذ إنها نشأت عن عِلّةٍ مؤكدة.»
