भवत: प्रियमित्येवं महद्‌ व्यसनमीदृशम्‌ । धर्मकामे प्रतीतस्य प्रतिपन्ना: सम भारत,भारत! आप धर्मकी इच्छा रखनेवाले हैं; इस रूपमें आपकी प्रसिद्धि है। अतः आपकी प्रिय अभिलाषा सिद्ध हो, इसीलिये हमलोग ऐसे महान्‌ संकटमें पड़ गये हैं

bhavataḥ priyam ity evaṁ mahad vyasanam īdṛśam | dharmakāme pratītasya pratipannāḥ sma bhārata ||

قال فايشَمبايانا: «لأننا لم نبتغِ إلا ما يرضيك وقعنا في بلاء عظيم كهذا. فأنت مشهورٌ بأنك تطلب الدَّرْمَا؛ ولذلك، لكي تتحقق رغبتك العزيزة، انتهينا إلى هذه الشدة القاسية، يا بهاراتا.»
