नाधर्मश्चरित: कश्चित्‌ त्वया भवति भाविनि । अधर्म कुत एवाहं वरेयं लोककाम्यया,कुन्ती! मेरे साथ समागम करनेसे तुम्हारे द्वारा कोई अधर्म नहीं बन रहा है। भला! मैं लौकिक कामवासनाके वशीभूत होकर अधर्मका वरण कैसे कर सकता हूँ?

Transliteration

nādharmas caritaḥ kaścit tvayā bhavati bhāvini | adharma kuta evāhaṃ vareyaṃ lokakāmyayā, kuntī ||

Translation

قال سُوريا: «يا سيدتي النبيلة، لا يلحقكِ في هذا الفعل أيُّ أدهرما (لا إثم ولا جور). وكيف لي—وأنا الشمس—أن أختار الأدهرما لمجرد شهوة دنيوية؟ يا كونتي!»
