ततो राज्ञा सहासीना: सर्वे ते वनवासिन: । जातकौतूहला: पार्थ पप्रच्छुर्न॒पते: सुतम्,पार्थ! तत्पश्चात् राजाके साथ बैठे हुए वे सभी वनवासी कौतूहलवश राजकुमार सत्यवानसे पूछने लगे
tato rājñā sahāsīnāḥ sarve te vanavāsinaḥ | jātakautūhalāḥ pārtha papracchur nṛpateḥ sutam ||
ثم، وبينما كان الملك جالسًا معهم، أخذ جميع سكان الغابة—وقد أثارتهم الدهشة والفضول—يسألون الأمير، ابن الملك. ويُبرز هذا المشهد نظامًا اجتماعيًا قوامه الدهرما: فالجماعة، إذ شهدت أمرًا عجيبًا، تلتمس بيان الحقيقة من الوارث الشرعي، ويُستدعى الأمير ضمنًا أن يجيب بنزاهةٍ وضبطٍ للنفس.
