Dharma-pratyabhijñāna and Vara-pradāna (धर्मप्रत्यभिज्ञानम्—वरप्रदानम्)
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca— sābhivadyābravīc chvaśrūṃ śvaśuraṃ ca mahāvratā | ayaṃ gacchati me bhartā phalāhāro mahāvanaṃ ||
The verse highlights dharmic propriety: even when driven by personal resolve, one should act with respect toward elders and seek their awareness/consent, so that one’s actions remain blameless and aligned with right conduct.
Sāvitrī, steadfast in her vow, respectfully approaches and addresses her parents-in-law, informing them that her husband Satyavān—living on forest fruits—is going to the great forest, setting the stage for her accompanying him with due decorum.
