पाण्डव दुर्वासाकी क्रोधाग्निमें गिर गये हैं और अपने ही महापापोंके कारण वे दुस्तर नरकमें जा पड़े हैं ।। वैशम्पायन उवाच इत्थं ते निकृतिप्रज्ञा राजन्‌ दुर्योधनादय: । हसन्तः प्रीतमनसो जग्मु: स्वं स्‍्व॑ं निकेतनम्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--राजन! छल-कपटकी विद्यामें प्रवीण दुर्योधन आदि इस प्रकार बातें करते और हँसते हुए प्रसन्न मनसे अपने-अपने भवनोंमें गये

vaiśampāyana uvāca | itthaṃ te nikṛtiprajñā rājan duryodhanādayaḥ | hasantaḥ prītamanaso jagmuḥ svaṃ svaṃ niketanam ||

قال فَيْشَمْبَايَنَة: «أيها الملك، هكذا تكلّم دُريودَهَنَةُ وسائرُهم—وقد دُرِّبت عقولُهم على الخداع—فيما بينهم. ضاحكين مسرورين في قلوبهم، رجع كلٌّ إلى مسكنه.»
