द्रौपदी-शैब्यसंवादः — Draupadī’s Identification and Counsel on Hospitality
विषीदथ: कि कौरव्यौ बालिश्यात् प्राकृताविव
viṣīdathaḥ ki kauravyau bāliśyāt prākṛtāv iva
قال فايشَمبايانا: «لِمَ تَغرقانِ، أيها الأميرانِ الكورَفيّانِ، في الكآبة—كأنكما رجلانِ عامّيانِ غليظا الطبع—لمحضِ طيشٍ صبيانيّ؟»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse censures despair born of immaturity and urges a kṣatriya-like steadiness of mind: one should not collapse into grief like an untrained person, but meet circumstances with composure and discernment.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana reports a rebuke addressed to two Kaurava princes who have become downcast; the speaker questions their dejection and attributes it to childish folly, contrasting it with the expected firmness of noble lineage.
