Adhyāya 227: Duryodhana’s Deliberation and the Ghoṣa-yātrā Pretext

अपरे गरुडीमाहुस्त्वयानर्थोडयमाहृत:,दूसरे लोगोंने उस गरुडी पक्षिणीसे कहा--“तूने ही यह अनर्थ उपस्थित किया है'। यह उन लोगोंका विचार था, जिन्होंने स्वाहादेवीको गरुडीके रूपमें जाते देखा था। लोग यह नहीं जानते थे कि यह सारा कार्य स्वाहाने किया है

apare garuḍīm āhus tvayā anartho ’yam āhṛtaḥ |

قال ماركانديّا: لامَ آخرونَ الغَرُودِيّ (أنثى طائر غَرُودا) قائلين: «أنتِ التي جلبتِ هذه النازلة». وكان ذلك حكمَ من رأوا الإلهة سْفَاهَا تسير في هيئة الغَرُودِيّ؛ ولم يكونوا يعلمون أن الفعل كلَّه إنما قامت به سْفَاهَا حقًّا.
