Kaurava Court Hears of the Pāṇḍavas’ Forest Hardship (वैचित्रवीर्यवंशीयस्य राज्ञः करुणाविचारः)
समालोक्यैकतामेव शशिनो भास्करस्य च । समवायं तु त॑ रौद्रं दृष्टवा शक्रो5न्वचिन्तयत्,इस प्रकार चन्द्रमा और सूर्यकी एकता (एक राशिपर स्थिति) तथा रौद्र मुहूर्तका संयोग देखकर इन्द्र मन-ही-मन इस प्रकार चिन्तन करने लगे---
samālokyaikatām eva śaśino bhāskarasya ca | samavāyaṃ tu taṃ raudraṃ dṛṣṭvā śakro 'nvacintayat ||
قال ماركاندييا: لما رأى القمرَ والشمسَ قد اصطفّا في محاذاةٍ واحدة، وشاهد اقترانَ «اللحظة الرودرا» العنيفة بما فيها من شؤم، أخذ إندرا يتفكّر في سريرته—يتأمّل ما الذي تنذر به هذه العلامة، وأيَّ سبيلٍ من الفعل هو الأقوم.
