Skanda-janma: Śivā/Svāhā, Agni, and the Manifestation of Guha
Mahābhārata 3.214
sandhau sandhau sanniviṣṭaḥ sarveṣv api tathānilaḥ | śarīreṣu manuṣyāṇāṃ vyāna ity upadiśyate ||
The verse defines Vyāna among the vital airs: it is the life-wind that pervades the whole body and is especially described as being present at every joint, enabling pervasive distribution and coordinated bodily function.
In the Vyādha’s instruction, he explains subtle knowledge about the body and prāṇa to his listener, using a physiological description of the vital airs to support a broader ethical-spiritual teaching grounded in dharma and disciplined understanding.
