Skanda-janma: Śivā/Svāhā, Agni, and the Manifestation of Guha

Mahābhārata 3.214

धातुष्वग्निस्तु विततः स तु वायुसमीरित: । रसान्‌ धातुूंश्न दोषांश्व वर्तयन्‌ परिधावति,त्वचा आदि सब धातुओंमें जठरानल व्याप्त है। वह प्राण आदि वायुओंसे प्रेरित होकर अन्न आदि रसों, त्वचा आदि धातुओं तथा पित्त आदि दोषोंको परिपक्व करता हुआ समूचे शरीरमें दौड़ा करता है

dhātuṣv agnis tu vitataḥ sa tu vāyu-samīritaḥ | rasān dhātūṃś ca doṣāṃś ca vartayan paridhāvati ||

يشرح الحكيمُ الصيّاد أنّ نارَ الهضم (جاثَراغني jāṭharāgni) تسري في جميع أنسجة الجسد. وإذ تُحرَّك برياح الحياة مثل البرانا (prāṇa)، فإنها تدور في البدن كلّه، فتُحوِّل وتُنضِج خلاصات الغذاء، والأنسجة التي تبدأ بالجلد، والأخلاط (دوṣa) التي تبدأ بالصفراء (پِتّا pitta). وبهذا يُصان الجسد بانضباطٍ باطنيٍّ منظّم—إذ تؤدّي كلُّ وظيفةٍ واجبَها اللائق في انسجامٍ مع الكلّ.
