सर्वत्र च दयावन्त: सन्त: करुणवेदिन:,जो सर्वत्र दया करते हैं, जिनके हृदयमें करुणाकी अनुभूति होती है, वे श्रेष्ठ पुरुष इस लोकमें अत्यन्त संतुष्ट रहकर धर्मके उत्तम पथपर चलते हैं। जिन्होंने धर्मको अपनाये रखनेका दृढ़ निश्चय कर लिया है, वे ही महात्मा सदाचारी हैं
sarvatra ca dayāvantaḥ santaḥ karuṇavedinaḥ |
قال الصيّاد: «إنّ الذين يفيضون رحمةً في كل موضع—من الأخيار الذين يشعرون حقًّا بألم الآخرين—يحيون في هذا العالم بقناعةٍ عميقة ويسيرون على الطريق الأسمى للدارما. ولا يكون عظيمَ النفس حقًّا فاضلًا إلا من عقد عزمه عقدًا راسخًا على صون الدارما».
