Bhīma–Hanūmān Dialogue on Yugas (युगवर्णनम्)
hanūmān uvāca | vānaro ’haṃ na te mārgaṃ pradāsyāmi yathepsitam | sādhu gaccha nivartasva mā tvaṃ prāpsyasi vaiśasam ||
Power should be guided by restraint and discernment. Hanuman’s refusal and warning emphasize that desire-driven forcefulness can lead to ruin; the ethical choice is to withdraw when a path is improper or dangerous.
During the Pandavas’ forest exile, Bhima encounters Hanuman blocking the way. Hanuman identifies himself as a vanara and denies Bhima the passage he wants, advising him to turn back to avoid a disastrous outcome.
