Cyavana’s Tapas, Sukanyā’s Curiosity, and Śaryāti’s Appeasement (च्यवन-सुकन्या-उपाख्यान आरम्भ)
अग्नीनामतिथीनां च शुश्रूषुरनसूयिका । समाराधयत क्षिप्रं च्यवनं सा शुभानना,सुमुखी सुकन्या किसीके गुणोंमें दोष नहीं देखती थी। वह त्रिविध अग्नियों और अतिथियोंकी सेवामें तत्पर हो शीघ्र ही महर्षि च्यवनकी आराधनामें लग गयी
agnīnām atithīnām ca śuśrūṣur anasūyikā | samārādhayat kṣipraṁ cyavanaṁ sā śubhānanā, sumukhī sukanyā ||
قال لوماشَ: كانت سوكانيا حسنة الوجه لطيفة الطبع، لا تتتبّع عيوب الناس ولا تحسد. فأقبلت على خدمة نيران البيت المقدّسة وإكرام الضيوف، وبذلك أسرعت إلى استرضاء الحكيم تشيافانا.
