Sagara Upākhyāna: Kapila’s Wrath, Aṃśumān’s Reverence, and the Bhāgīratha Line

Educational Q&A

The verse emphasizes steadiness and trust in a divinely prescribed order: when a course is ordained by a higher authority (here Mahādeva) and conveyed through proper counsel, one should not be swayed by doubt or seek an alternative path driven by impatience or fear.

A speaker addresses a king, assuring him that he will obtain sixty thousand sons. The speaker states that Mahādeva has already decreed the king’s progeny to arise through a particular sequence or procedure, and urges the king to adhere to that prescribed method without entertaining contrary plans.
