Saṃjaya’s Warning to Dhṛtarāṣṭra: Accountability, Alliance-Shift, and the Pāṇḍava Strategic Edge

tava putrā mahārāja rājānaś cānusāriṇaḥ | prabho mahārāja bhīmasenārjunabhītāḥ kadācana vijayaṁ na prāpsyanti ||

Educational Q&A

Victory depends not only on numbers and alliances but on courage, resolve, and moral-psychological strength. When leaders and allies are internally dominated by fear of capable opponents, their capacity to act effectively collapses, making defeat likely.

Sañjaya addresses Dhṛtarāṣṭra, warning that the Kaurava princes and the kings allied with them will not win, because they are intimidated by the prowess of Bhīma and Arjuna—two principal champions of the Pāṇḍavas.
