महाभये सम्प्रवृत्ते रथस्थं विवर्तमानं समरे कृतास्त्रम् । सर्वा दिश: सम्पतन्तं समीक्ष्य तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
sañjaya uvāca | mahābhaye sampravṛtte rathasthaṃ vivartamānaṃ samare kṛtāstram | sarvā diśaḥ sampatantaṃ samīkṣya tadā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro ’nvātapsyāt ||
قال سانجيا: إذا قامت في المعركة رهبةٌ عظيمة، وكان سَهَدِيفا—واقفًا على مركبته، مكتمل السلاح، حاذقًا بفنون القتال—يدور في الوغى ويهجم على العدو من كل جهة، فحين يرى دوريودَهَنَ، ابن دِهرتَراشْترا، أنه يغير على جميع النواحي، يستولي عليه ندمٌ مُحرق في قلب الحرب، إذ يتفكر في عاقبة مسلكه الجائر.
