Educational Q&A

A graded discipline of restraint: patience checks lust and hunger; vigilant sight regulates bodily actions; the mind governs the senses; and righteous action safeguards mind and speech—making each lower impulse accountable to a higher faculty.

In the Udyoga Parva’s counsel-setting, Vidura delivers nīti (ethical instruction), advising on inner governance and self-mastery as essential foundations for right conduct amid political and moral crisis.
