Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
न भयान्नाप्यनुक्रोशान्नार्थलो भान्न काम्यया । क्षात्रं धर्ममहं जह्यामिति मे व्रतमाहितम्
na bhayān nāpy anukrośān nārthalobhān na kāmyayā | kṣātraṃ dharmam ahaṃ jahyām iti me vratam āhitam ||
قال راما: «لا خوفًا، ولا شفقةً، ولا طمعًا في مال، ولا رغبةً شخصيةً—لن أتخلى عن دَرمَة المحارب (واجب الكشاتريا). هذا نذرٌ قد عقدتُه بإحكام.»
