Adhyāya 128 — Proposal to Restrain Keśava; Sātyaki’s Warning and Vidura–Dhṛtarāṣṭra Counsel
प्रपद्यस्व महाबाहुं कृष्णमक्लिष्टकारिणम् । प्रसन्नो हि सुखाय स्थादुभयोरेव केशव:
prapadyasva mahābāhuṁ kṛṣṇam akliṣṭakāriṇam | prasanno hi sukhāya sthād ubhayor eva keśavaḥ ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: «الْتَجِئْ إلى كريشنا، عظيمِ الذراعين، الذي لا تُكدِّر أفعاله كُلفةٌ ولا تُدنِّسها شائبة. فإنْ رضي كيشافا كان لا محالة مصدرَ العافية والسعادة لكلا الفريقين».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse urges śaraṇāgati—seeking refuge in Kṛṣṇa as a righteous, untainted agent of dharma—because his goodwill can secure welfare not only for one’s own party but for both sides in a conflict.
In the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war negotiations and counsel, Vaiśampāyana reports advice that turning to Kṛṣṇa—whose judgment and action are portrayed as steady and ethically reliable—can bring a beneficial outcome for both contending parties.
