Gālava’s Despair and Resolve to Seek Viṣṇu
अन्न तेन तदा भुक्तमन्यैर्दत्तं तपस्विभि: । अथ गह्ान्नमत्युष्णं विश्वामित्रो5प्युपागमत्,उन्होंने जब दूसरे तपस्वी मुनियोंका दिया हुआ अन्न खा लिया, तब विश्वामित्रजी भी अत्यन्त उष्ण भोजन लेकर उनकी सेवामें उपस्थित हुए
anna tena tadā bhuktam anyair dattaṃ tapassibhiḥ | atha gṛhānnam aty-uṣṇaṃ viśvāmitro 'py upāgamat ||
وبعد أن أكل ما قدّمه له سائرُ الحكماء الزهّاد من طعام، قدم فيشوامِترا أيضًا، يحمل وجبةً شديدة السخونة، وتقدّم للخدمة قائمًا على الحضور. ويُبرز هذا المشهد امتحان ضبط النفس وأخلاق الضيافة والخدمة بين أهل الزهد.
नारद उवाच
The verse underscores ethical discipline in ascetic life: accepting what is given without attachment, and the importance of service and hospitality even under discomfort (here, the ‘excessively hot’ meal functions as a test of restraint and conduct).
Nārada narrates that after the person in question has already eaten food donated by other ascetics, the sage Viśvāmitra arrives as well, bringing very hot household food and presenting himself to serve/attend—setting up a situation that tests proper behavior around receiving and offering food.
