Indra and Dharma’s Consolation; Celestial Gaṅgā Purification
उपर्युपरि राज्ञां हि तव लोका युधिष्छिर । हरिश्वन्द्रसमा: पार्थ येषु त्वं विहरिष्यसि
uparyupari rājñāṁ hi tava lokā yudhiṣṭhira | hariścandrasamāḥ pārtha yeṣu tvaṁ viharīṣyasi ||
قال فَيْشَمْبَايَنَة: «يا يُدْهِشْثِرَ، يا ابنَ پْرِثَا، إن العوالم التي آلت إليك أرفع حقًّا من عوالم سائر الملوك—كالعوالم التي بلغها الملك هَرِشْچَنْدْرَة. وفي تلك الديار السامية، يا پَارْثَا، ستقيم وتطوف حيث تشاء.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Righteous conduct and steadfast adherence to dharma culminate in exalted spiritual reward: Yudhiṣṭhira’s attained realms are portrayed as surpassing those of other kings, comparable to the famed merit of Hariścandra.
In the Svargārohaṇa episode, Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates the outcome of Yudhiṣṭhira’s journey and trials: he is assured of superior heavenly worlds, likened to the celebrated attainment of King Hariścandra, where he will dwell.
