मध्यस्थो हि त्वमप्यासीर्न क्षमं किज्चिदुक्तवान्‌ । दुर्धरेण त्वया भारस्तुलया न सम॑ धृत:

وأنت أيضاً جلست موقفَ الوسيط، فلم تنطق بكلمةٍ من النصح اللائق. كنتَ بطلاً عسيرَ المراس—لا يجرؤ أحدٌ على ردّ قولك—ومع ذلك لم تضع عبءَ الفريقين على كفّتي الميزان بروحٍ متساوية لتزن الأمر بالعدل.
