Rāma–Jāmadagnya-janma-kāraṇa and Kṣatra-kṣaya
Paraśurāma’s origins and the depletion/restoration of kṣatriya lineages
dṛṣṭam etat purā bhadre jñātaṃ ca tapasā mayā | brahmabhūtaṃ hi sakalaṃ pituḥ tava kulaṃ bhavet kalyāṇi ||
The verse emphasizes the epistemic and moral authority attributed to tapas (austerity): through disciplined ascetic practice one gains insight into dharmic outcomes, here expressed as a foreseen transformation of a lineage into Brahmin status/nature.
Ṛcīka addresses an auspicious lady and declares that he has already seen and confirmed through austerities that her father’s entire family line will become Brahmin, presenting this as a certain, divinely grounded foreknowledge.
