अतिथिरुवाच अहमप्यत्र मुह्यामि ममाप्येष मनोरथ: । न च संनिश्चयं यामि बहुद्वारे त्रिविष्टपे
atithir uvāca aham apy atra muhyāmi mamāpy eṣa manorathaḥ | na ca saṃniścayaṃ yāmi bahudvāre triviṣṭape ||
قال الضيف: «يا أفضلَ البراهمة، إنّي أنا أيضًا متحيّر في هذا الأمر، ولي كذلك هذه الأمنية بعينها. مثلك أريد أن ألوذ بأعلى الدارما، غير أنّ الحيرة ما تزال تقبض عليّ. إنّ للسماء أبوابًا كثيرة—وسُبُلًا شتّى للبلوغ—فلست أستطيع أن أحسم يقينًا أيَّ طريق ينبغي اختياره».
