उक्ता: स््मो यद् भगवता तदात्वायतिसंहितम् । तन्नो मनसि संरूढं करिष्यामस्तथा च तत्
uktāḥ smo yad bhagavatā tadātvāyati-saṁhitam | tan no manasi saṁrūḍhaṁ kariṣyāmas tathā ca tat ||
ثم قالوا لفياسا: «أيها المبارك، إن ما نطقتَ به من تعليم—مما يلائم الحاضر وقد جُمِع بنظرٍ إلى ما سيأتي، ابتغاءً لمصلحتنا—قد ترسّخ في قلوبنا. وسنعمل بمقتضاه ونُنجزه على ذلك الوجه بعينه.»
भीष्म उवाच
The verse emphasizes receptive learning and ethical follow-through: wise counsel that addresses both immediate needs and future consequences should be internalized (‘rooted in the mind’) and then implemented faithfully.
Bhishma responds to a revered speaker’s instruction, affirming that the guidance has been understood and firmly retained, and promising to act in accordance with it.
