Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the overwhelming, Rudra-like potency of divine manifestations: when a being of Rudra’s order brings forth attendants, they inherit the same fierce energy and heroic capacity. Ethically, it highlights that power reproduces its own nature—forces born from wrathful divinity embody that wrath and must be approached with restraint and reverence.

Dakṣa describes how a powerful figure generated troop-leaders from the pores of his body. These beings were named the Raumyas; because they were comparable to Rudra in fierceness, they were also called Raudra-gaṇas, possessing Rudra-like vigor and valor.
