Parāśara’s Counsel on बुद्धि (Discernment), Karma-Consequences, and Avoidance of Pāpānubandha Actions
तथाविष्टमथो ज्ञात्वा ऋषयो देवतास्तथा । स्तुवन्त: शक्रमीशानं तथा प्राचोदयन्नपि
tathāviṣṭam atho jñātvā ṛṣayo devatās tathā | stuvantaḥ śakram īśānaṃ tathā prācodayann api ||
قال بهيشما: لما علم الحكماء والآلهة أن فِرترا قد استولى عليه ذلك البلاء القاهر، أخذوا يسبّحون شَكرا (إندرا) السيد الحاكم، وفي الوقت نفسه يحثّونه على المضيّ قُدُماً لقتل فِرترا.
भीष्म उवाच
When disorder threatens the world, dharmic protection requires timely, resolute action; the wise and the divine community strengthen the rightful agent through praise, counsel, and exhortation so that duty is carried out without hesitation.
Sages and gods recognize that Vṛtra is under a powerful affliction/possession and, in response, they praise Indra (Śakra) and urge him to proceed toward Vṛtra’s slaying, rallying him to fulfill his role as protector.
