समाविशत् तदा रौद्रो वृत्र लोकपतिं तदा | तब जगदीश्वर भगवान् शिवका तेज रौद्र ज्वर होकर लोकेश्वर वृत्रके शरीरमें समा गया
samāviśat tadā raudro vṛtra lokapatiṃ tadā |
قال بيشما: عندئذٍ دخلت في فِرِترا—سيدٍ بين الكائنات—قوةٌ ضاريةٌ غاضبة. وهكذا فإن ربَّ العالم، بهاگوان شِڤا، وقد صار حُمّى رهيبة متّقدة، من طاقةٍ رُدرية، اندمج في جسد فِرِترا، فاشتدّت بأسه وتعاظم هولُ المعركة.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights that overwhelming power in the world can be understood as arising from a higher cosmic source; wrathful force (raudra-tejas) is not merely personal anger but a potent, dangerous energy that, when unleashed, transforms the course of events and demands ethical restraint and discernment.
Bhīṣma describes a moment when a fierce Rudra-like energy—identified with Bhagavān Śiva as a burning ‘jvara’—enters Vṛtra’s body, implying divine empowerment/possession that heightens Vṛtra’s formidable presence in the unfolding mythic struggle.
