Ātma-saṃyama-dharma: One-pointedness of Mind and Senses
brahmāstada pi kartāsmi yad bhavān vakṣyate punaḥ | iti sarvam anu jñāpya nivedya ca yathāvidhi
The verse emphasizes disciplined conduct: even when acting with spiritual intent, one should proceed with proper authorization, respectful submission, and adherence to prescribed procedure (yathāvidhi).
Vyāsa speaks of undertaking a sacred task in accordance with what the addressed person will declare, and notes that the matter is first formally presented and permission obtained before proceeding.
