Ātma-saṃyama-dharma: One-pointedness of Mind and Senses (शुक–व्यास संवादः)
अभिवाद्य गुरु ब्रूयादधीष्व भगवन्निति । इदं करिष्ये भगवन्निदं चापि कृतं मया
abhivādya guruṁ brūyād adhīṣva bhagavann iti | idaṁ kariṣye bhagavann idaṁ cāpi kṛtaṁ mayā ||
بعد أن يحيّي التلميذُ معلّمَه بإجلال، يقول وهو ضامٌّ كفّيه: «أيها السيد الموقَّر، علّمني». وعليه أن يرفع تقريره بصدقٍ وانضباط: «هذه المهمة سأشرع فيها الآن، وتلك المهمة قد أتممتُها». يصوّر هذا البيتُ التعلّمَ قائمًا على التوقير، والمساءلة، والاستعداد لأداء الواجب.
व्यास उवाच
Learning is to be approached through reverence toward the teacher and ethical self-reporting: the student requests instruction respectfully and demonstrates discipline by clearly stating what has been completed and what will be done next.
Vyāsa describes proper student behavior in the guru’s presence: after salutation, the student asks to be taught and informs the teacher about completed and intended duties, reflecting orderly conduct within the educational setting.
