Time-Reckoning, Yuga-Dharma, and the Sequence of Creation

aham evodvahāmy āpo visṛjāmi ca vāsava | tapāmi caiva trailokyaṁ vidyotāmy aham eva ca ||

Educational Q&A

The verse links authority with responsibility: the one who wields power must sustain order through beneficial, regulated action—like the cosmic cycle of lifting waters, releasing rain, giving warmth, and providing light.

Śakra (Indra) speaks in self-assertion, describing his cosmic functions—evaporation, rainfall, heating the worlds, and lightning—emphasizing his role in maintaining the world’s rhythms.
