धन-यज्ञ-दानविवेकः

Wealth, Sacrifice, and Disciplined Giving

चतुष्पदी हि नि:श्रेणी ब्रह्मण्येव प्रतिष्ठिता । तां क्रमेण महाबाहो यथावज्जय पार्थिव

catuṣpadī hi niḥśreṇī brahmaṇy eva pratiṣṭhitā | tāṁ krameṇa mahābāho yathāvaj jaya pārthiva ||

«أيها الملك عظيم الساعد، إن السُلَّم ذا الدرجات الأربع المؤدّي إلى الخير الأقصى قائمٌ في البراهمن وحده (كما تُعلِّم الفيدا). فارتقِه على الترتيب وبالوجه اللائق: طور البراهماتشاريا (انضباط الطالب)، ثم طور الغِرْهَسْثا (مسؤولية ربّ البيت)، ثم طور الفانابراستها (الاعتزال إلى الغابة)، ثم طور السَّنْياسا (الزهد والترك). ليغدو العمر صعوداً ثابتاً نحو التحقّق، لا سعياً مضطرباً وراء الشهوة.»
