Manu on the hierarchy of senses, mind, and knowledge

The verse is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter devoted to dhyāna-yoga (meditative discipline). Its core message is structural rather than doctrinal: it frames meditation as a recognized and authoritative component of dharma-teaching within Śānti Parva’s post-war ethical instruction.
This line functions as an editorial/narrative closure: it announces that the chapter on the description of meditation-yoga has concluded within the Gokṣa-dharma section of Śānti Parva. It signals a transition point to the next unit of Bhīṣma’s instruction.
